March 2018 - Field work: We successfully deployed the first set of artifical reefs to create new habiats for lobster and juvenile cod in Placentia Bay, Newfoundland. Have a look this cool video of the deployment
March 2018 - New lab member: WELCOME to Paul, the new postdoctoral fellow in the lab. Paul will work on statistical modelling of movement of Atlantic halibut in the Northwest Atlantic.
January 2018 - Paper: My new paper on the impact of climate and conservation measures on the New England lobster fisheries is now published in PNAS and available online.
November 2017 - Presentation: Arnault attended the 10th international flatfish symposium in Saint Malo, France and presented his work on fish geolcoation. Here is the presentation.
September 2017 - Funding and Press: The Honourable Dominic LeBlanc announced that Centre for Fisheries Ecosystems Research will receive $4.7 million as part of the Coastal Restoration Fund to restore eelgrass beds in Placentia Bay. I will be the lead on this intiative. This is exciting time for CFER and for the lab. Here are the links to the official press release and to my interview on the broadcast
September 2017 - New lab member: WELCOME to Andrés, the first student in my lab. Andrés will do a M.Sc. in Fisheries Science and Technology (Stock assessment stream) and will conduct research on spatio-temporal variation in northern shrimp life-history traits.
